Professor Stan Veprek is a still active Professor Emeritus of the Technical University Munich. He studied experimental physics at the Faculty for Mathematics and Physics of the Charles University in Prague. Then he was working at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, University of Zürich, Switzerland. In 1988 he moved to the Institute for Chemistry of Inorganic Materials at the Technical University Munich, Germany, where he served as Full Professor and Director. He published over 380 papers, 4 books and 8 conference proceedings (as editor), he serves as Co-Editor of the scientific Journal “Plasma Chemistry and Plasma Processing“ (Publisher Springer, New York). Since January 2005 (i.e. after retirement) total 65 invited and plenary lectures at international scientific conferences, workshops and courses. Invited visiting scientist at University of Münster (Westf., Germany), Texas A & M University       (USA), The University of Dundee, IBM Research Center (Yorkown Hights, USA), University of Sapporo, National Institute for Metals Tsukuba, Singapore Institute for Manufacturing Technology, and others.
