 This Symposium will provide a forum for papers dealing witth the latest developments in the physical metallurgy of the nickel-based superalloys, to include aspects of processing, structure/property relationships, alloy design, modelling/simulation and characterization using high resolution techniques. The editors welcome particularly contributions which(i)            identify and address unresolved issues in the field(ii)           provide new insights via the use of the latest high resolution analytical techniques(iii)          detail new theory and models, particularly when validated against experiment

(iv)         address issues related to the synergy of the superalloys with other classes of material, e.g. in hybrid structures

(v)          deal with new or novel processing techniques

(vi)         describe new applications in emerging markets for these alloys
